Ximena Muñiz was a "most noble, very rich and beautiful woman" (in the words of Bishop Pelayo de Oviedo Chronicon Regum Legionensium), who is mentioned in medieval chronicles as a concubine of king Alfonso VI and mother of his daughters Elvira and Teresa of Portugal. She received the Tenure of Ulver and the Counties of Astorga and del Bierzo by royal will.

She was buried in the church of the Monastery of San Andres de Vega de Espinareda. The tombstone with the epitaph is preserved in the Archaeological Museum of León and the remains of her remain somewhere in the church without identifying, in the most complete anonymity.
